“Akoro by ABIBOO” is a non-physical object that celebrates Monsieur Louis Vuitton’s 200th birthday by providing an immersive virtual reality journey to new frontiers: space travel and digital worlds.
“Akoro” is a neologism derived from the term “Artista koro” in Esperanto, which means “artist’s heart.” Louis Vuitton envisioned design and innovation as tools to connect humanity. In a related way, Esperanto was conceived as an international language to unite cultures.
Akoro, Le Coeur d’Artiste, celebrates Louis Vuitton’s 200th birthday by reimagining his original and timeless creation: the trunk. ABIBOO has also created a Clean NFT for Akoro, a verified token that provides digital proof of ownership. Sotheby’s will auction Akoro at the end of 2021, and all proceeds will be donated to charity.
Louis Vuitton has chosen 200 visionaries worldwide who capture the spirit of the brand’s creator: activists, scientists, explorers, and artists. Each visionary has reinterpreted the trunk, a symbol of the item that led to the founding of the brand and the transformation of the way people travel. ABIBOO Studio, in collaboration with its associates at Futuverse™, crafted this innovative digital art piece named “Akoro”.
Monsieur Louis Vuitton’s attention to detail and approach to luxury have transcended the dimensional realm. Yet, almost two hundred years later, his legacy and inspiration are not constrained to the limitations of space and time.
The progress and complexity of today’s society is a canvas for creating new worlds to explore, outside and inside ourselves. The new frontiers for adventure in the 21st Century are space travel and digital realities, with multiple experiences superimposing each other. Akoro is a new trunk that allows you to travel beyond the dimensional reality into a new virtual off-world.
As architects and artists, we strive to create spaces that respond to their environment, similar to how skin reacts to its context. Additionally, we have discovered that specific vibrations that travel through architectural spaces provide an opportunity to connect with our emotions and our hearts. Light and Sound are the two most substantial waves that move our feelings.
Akoro is a non-physical object that responds instantly to the lights and sounds in your surroundings or from anywhere else you choose, providing a highly customizable experience.
The real-time responsive character of Akoro makes it come to life. The “artist’s heart” has its own beats and character, while adapting to and reflecting your context as it breathes and resonates. The virtual nature of this digital heart provides an opportunity for a highly immersive experience of a journey inside a metaverse world that is a custom creation based on your environment or desired inputs.
Travel is usually associated with moving in space. However, the digital “artist’s heart” can facilitate the experience of travel by displaying imagery from remote locations.
For example, you may be physically located in London while being immersed in a virtual reality experience that responds to events happening at that exact moment in New York or 15-minutes ago on Mars! The hyper-connectivity of the 21st Century provides you with the opportunity to potentially travel instantly through Akoro anywhere where there is a camera connected to the internet.
At the same time, like a trunk of memories, Akoro can transport you to a filtered immersive reality of treasured events from your past through personal videos channeled through the digital blood of “the artist’s heart.”
Luxury is about uniqueness and exclusivity, and each interaction with Akoro is different, as it is deeply connected to your desires and environment. Akoro is a re-interpretation of luxury because each second of experiencing it is unique.
While Akoro’s skin is dynamic and responds to the environment, its interior is kept untouched. The reactive nature of Akoro provides hints from the outside about the experiential secrets that it dearly protects inside, but it does not fully disclose it. As in love, just one person has the key to the depths of the heart’s secrets.

ABIBOO’s piece named Akoro is an immersive virtual reality experience that responds to its surroundings in real-time while providing an immersive journey to new frontiers: space travel and virtual realities.
Akoro’s NFT Smart Contract has been deployed onto Polygon (Matic), one of the most robust technologies of blockchain that are currently available.
ABIBOO Studio strives to create innovative and sustainable solutions in architecture and digital art. Most of the NFTs currently available have a high impact on the environment as they are minted based on the current Ethereum’s Proof-of-Work technology. However, the Proof-of-Stake technology by Polygon is drastically more energy-efficient. It is estimated that the Akoro NFT required approximately 100,000 times less energy than if Akoro’s NFT was created based on the current Ethereum.

Louis Vuitton will donate €10,000 on behalf of ABIBOO Studio to a charitable organization that focuses on enabling access to the arts and creativity for young people from disadvantaged communities. Additionally, Akoro will be auctioned at Sotheby’s at the end of 2021, and all proceeds will also be donated.
These donations continue ABIBOO Studio’s commitment to creating better communities through the restorative power of design and generosity. Since its founding in 2010, ABIBOO Studio has contributed to promoting children’s educational and creative development and endorsing the best practices in artistic and cultural training.
