ABIBOO´s team joins the Executive Board at SONet network for Sustainable Off-world Exploration.
ABIBOO Studio has joined the SONet (Sustainable Offworld Network), a network of academic professionals dedicated to seeking sustainable exploration solutions outside Earth, especially on the Moon and Mars.
The architect Alfredo Muñoz, founder of ABIBOO Studio, is also a member of the Executive Board. SONet is an international and multidisciplinary community of experts from the public and private areas of activity.
SONet believes in the benefits space exploration has to society. Expanding the human experience to Space has excellent potential for enhancing international cooperation, boosting research and innovation, and finding creative solutions to Earth problems. “We are certain that if we send humans to other planets, this time, it needs to be done sustainably. That is, after an initial investment, the off-Earth infrastructure should be able to maintain and expand by itself without further straining our world”, advocates.
SONet’s goals include:
Cooperate and organize the civil and academic society’s collective expertise towards the development of sustainable infrastructure in Space.
- Start conversations between different society stakeholders with the space industry and research community into how the exploration of Space should develop.
- Organize and curate relevant bibliography.
- Train the next generation of professionals that should enable the space era, where Space is understood as a natural extension of the domain of human activities and experiences.
- Support initiatives to spin-in methods and technologies from various sectors, and support the spin-out of solutions that can be applied to make our society more sustainable also on Earth.

El equipo de ABIBOO Studio se integra en la junta ejecutiva de la red SONet para la Exploración Extraterrestre Sostenible.
ABIBOO Studio se ha sumado a la red de profesionales académicos SONet (Sustainable Offworld Network) dedicada a buscar soluciones de exploración sostenible fuera de la Tierra, especialmente en la Luna y en Marte.
El arquitecto Alfredo Muñoz, fundador de ABIBOO integra además la Junta Ejecutiva de esta comunidad multidisciplinaria de expertos del sector público y privado de diferentes países.
SONet asegura que la expansión de la experiencia humana al espacio tiene un gran potencial para mejorar la cooperación internacional, impulsar la investigación y la innovación, y encontrar soluciones creativas a los problemas de la Tierra.
“Estamos seguros de que si enviamos a los humanos a otros planetas, esta vez, es necesario hacerlo de manera sostenible. Es decir, tras una inversión inicial, la infraestructura extraterrestre debería ser capaz de mantenerse y expandirse por sí misma sin ejercer más presión sobre nuestro mundo”, afirma en su declaración de intenciones.
Entre los objetivos de SONet destacan:
- Cooperar y organizar la experiencia colectiva de la sociedad civil y académica hacia el desarrollo de una infraestructura sostenible en el espacio.
- Iniciar conversaciones entre diferentes sectores involucrados de la sociedad con la industria espacial y la comunidad de investigadores científicos, sobre cómo desarrollar la exploración espacial.
- Organizar y curar bibliografía relevante.
- Educar a la próxima generación de profesionales que hará posible la era espacial, para que entienda al Espacio como una extensión natural de las actividades y experiencias humanas.
- Apoyar iniciativas para incorporar métodos y tecnologías de diversos sectores, y apoyar el desarrollo de soluciones que puedan aplicarse para hacer que nuestra sociedad sea más sostenible también en la Tierra.
